About the Business Area - Finance

In this role, your key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the development and implementation of a Bank-wide procurement strategy which drives a long term view of procurement and sourcing in order to effectively manage Bank-wide supply and demand and to drive maximum value from relationships with the Bank’s key vendors and providers.
  • Manage the development and implementation of a pan-ADCB procurement framework to ensure the Bank to seek best value goods and services from simple product purchases through to significant infrastructure, technology, risk and insurance, consultancy and other services.
  • Manage the implementation of Bank-wide or infrastructure procurement initiatives, overseeing

vendor selection, contract negotiation and demand planning in order to drive maximum value for the Bank.

  • Assist in the development of long-term procurement strategies and managing the implementation of agreed actions to ensure alignment with the requirements of the Bank and to ensure that Bank-wide procurement activity drives maximum value.
  • Collaborate with and maintain vendor relationship with critical suppliers, partners and third parties in order to effectively negotiate with the supply side in order to build effective long term supply contracts and to extract best value for the Bank.
  • Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and employee contribution to business performance.
  • Manage the effective achievement of the team’s objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing the team and providing formal and informal feedback to maximise overall performance, engagement and motivation.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the business area’s budget and manage and monitor the financial performance against the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to departmental policies, procedures and processes covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while ensuring that ADCB delivers best-in-class services, products and innovation.

 

 

The ideal candidate should have the following experience

  • At least 8 years of experience in progressively more complex and responsible experience leading a large procurement function.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration.
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) accreditation or equivalent.
