Executive Manager - Repo
In this role, your key responsibilities include:
- Translate secured funding, secondary market trading and optimisation priorities into daily trading and execution plans by monitoring market conditions, funding requirements and collateral availability to deliver agreed objectives
- Execute bilateral and tri party repo and reverse repo transactions across government bonds, emerging market and credit assets including Investment Grade (IG), High Yield (HY) and structured credit, ensuring pricing, execution quality and liquidity outcomes remain aligned to strategy and approved mandates
- Manage the repo funding book by actively controlling liquidity positioning, collateral allocation, inventory management and short and long positioning to optimise cost of funds and balance sheet efficiency
- Price repo and structured financing trades for internal treasury stakeholders and external counterparties by assessing secured funding curves, collateral characteristics, haircuts and counterparty terms, ensuring transactions are commercially competitive and operationally executable
- Design and structure bespoke repo and secured financing solutions including term financing, collateral upgrade and downgrade trades and balance sheet efficient structures such as netting and compression
- Develop alternative financing solutions including total return swaps, collateral swaps, repo to maturity and synthetic financing transactions across rates, credit and emerging markets, incorporating derivatives hedging and overlays to manage risk and enhance returns within approved frameworks
- Work closely with Asset Liability Management (ALM) to optimise balance sheet usage by structuring and managing trades under constraints including Risk Weighted Assets (RWA), leverage ratio, Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) and Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR)
- Structure and execute transactions to reduce capital consumption, improve regulatory metrics and enhance return on balance sheet while maintaining compliance with UAE Central Bank requirements and Basel III frameworks
- Engage with external counterparties to understand market themes, financing dynamics and relative value opportunities, originating structured funding and repo solutions aligned to the Bank’s secured financing strategy
- Support onboarding of new counterparties by coordinating documentation, operational readiness and internal approvals, and provide market colour, pricing and trade ideas that support sustainable access to liquidity and collateral capacity
- Partner with Credit and Market Risk to build, maintain and apply repo collateral risk frameworks, support counterparty credit limit methodology and allocation, and ensure transactions remain within approved risk parameters
- Monitor and optimise initial margin, variation margin, market risk and counterparty exposures across central counterparty clearing and bilateral relationships, and contribute to new product approvals, structured trade documentation and risk framework development
- Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximize own and employee contribution to business performance
- Manage the effective achievement of the team’s objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing the team and providing formal and informal feedback to maximize overall performance, engagement and motivation
- Contribute to the preparation of the business area’s budget and manage and monitor the financial performance against the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon
- Identify opportunities to contribute to organisational and departmental change initiatives, programmes and projects taking into account best practice and standards in the business environment
