Treasury & Investments Group

Treasury offers a diverse range of conventional and Islamic banking solutions and is responsible for the Group’s funding, investments, and centralised risk management activities. It manages the Bank’s borrowings, issuance of debt securities, and use of derivatives to mitigate financial risk, while investing in a range of instruments, including green bonds, short-term placements, and corporate and sovereign debt securities.

 

Job Purpose: 

To manage and deliver the execution and lifecycle portfolio management of structured credit investments by providing technical ownership over the sourcing, analysis and postexecution management of complex and private transactions, including AssetBacked Securities (ABS), MortgageBacked Securities (MBS) and complementary asset classes to Collateralised Loan Obligations (CLOs), in order to support portfolio diversification, ensure robust due diligence, governance and regulatory oversight, and contribute to sustainable riskadjusted returns aligned with the Bank’s strategic investment objectives

 

 

In this role, your key responsibilities include:

 

  • Contribute to the implementation of the structured credit investment strategy through disciplined execution of approved mandates, working closely with Management, Risk and Finance functions
  • Monitor market trends, macroeconomic indicators and regulatory developments impacting structured credit markets to inform investment positioning and opportunity assessment
  • Translate desk strategy into short, medium and longterm operational business plans, support performance monitoring and reporting against agreed objectives, and recommend corrective actions to ensure strategic outcomes are achieved
  • Source, screen and analyse structured credit investment opportunities, including Collateralised Loan Obligations (CLOs), ensuring alignment with the Bank’s strategic objectives, approved risk appetite and regulatory requirements
  • Assess transaction structures, collateral quality, cashflow mechanics and counterparty strength to support informed investment decisions and internal approval processes
  • Contribute to portfolio construction and the development of riskmonitoring tools to track performance, credit quality, concentrations and market developments across structured credit exposures
  • Prepare regular portfolio reports and presentations for senior management and investment committees, and recommend portfolio rebalancing and optimisation strategies to enhance sustainable riskadjusted returns
  • Ensure all structured credit investments and transaction structures comply with applicable regulatory and supervisory requirements, including UAE Central Bank guidelines
  • Work closely with Risk, Compliance and Legal to maintain appropriate documentation, controls and audit readiness, and support regulatory reviews and internal governance processes as required
  • Implement and monitor governance frameworks, controls and reform metrics to ensure transparency, accountability and alignment with the Bank’s control environment

 

  • Contribute to strategic transformation initiatives by embedding disciplined risk management, performance monitoring and governance standards across structured credit activities

 

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Risk, Legal, Finance and Compliance, to support the definition and ongoing refinement of investment policies, frameworks and controls
  • Engage with external counterparties, including arrangers, asset managers and rating agencies where applicable, to source, review and negotiate investments and maintain continuous market awareness

 

  • Maintain active awareness of innovation and emerging developments in structured credit markets
  • Identify new product structures, asset classes and investment approaches that support portfolio diversification, respond to evolving market and regulatory conditions, and align with the Bank’s longterm investment strategy.
  • Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximize own and employee contribution to business performance
  • Manage the effective achievement of the team’s objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing the team and providing formal and informal feedback to maximize overall performance, engagement and motivation
  • Contribute to the preparation of the business area’s budget and manage and monitor the financial performance against the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon
  • Recommend and implement improvements to departmental policies, procedures and processes covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while ensuring that ADCB delivers best-in-class services, products and innovation
  • Identify opportunities to contribute to organisational and departmental change initiatives, programmes and projects taking into account best practice and standards in the business environment
  • Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the Bank’s required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions

 

The ideal candidate should have the following experience: 

  • At least 8 years of experience in structured credit markets as an arranger or investor, with significant exposure to AssetBacked Securities (ABS), MortgageBacked Securities (MBS) and bespoke securitisation transactions
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related discipline
  • CFA, FRM, or equivalent preferred
  • Structured Credit and Securitisation Expertise
  • Advanced Financial Modelling and Cash Flow Analysis
  • Portfolio Risk Management and Monitoring
  • Regulatory and Capital Framework Knowledge
