About the business area
To lead ADCB Asset Management’s investment management activities, including both discretionary portfolios and proprietary mutual funds. The role involves leading a team of investment managers in managing funds and mandates in accordance with client and fund objectives within a robust control environment; setting future product strategy alongside Asset Management colleagues; and helping relationship managers and investment advisers service existing clients and win new business.
In this role, your key responsibilities include:
- Investment Management - Oversee the management of ADCB’s investment portfolios (both discretionary and fund-based) to ensure they are in accordance with pre-determined investment mandates, parameters and regulatory requirements.
- Business Growth and Product Development - Contribute to the development of the investment management offering, feeding into product strategy, engaging in the launch process for new offerings and ongoing management of the existing offering to ensure the offerings match client requirements and industry best practice.
- Collaborate with stakeholders from across Asset Management and the broader ADCB business in order to grow the investment management offering
- Client Engagement and Business Development - Partner with relationship managers and investment advisers in order to support existing client relationships and win new client business
- People Management - Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and employee contribution to business performance
- Manage the effective achievement of the team’s objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing the team and providing formal and informal feedback to maximise overall performance, engagement and motivation
- Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures - Recommend and implement improvements to departmental policies, procedures and processes covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while ensuring that ADCB delivers best-in-class services, products and innovation
- Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to contribute to organisational and departmental change initiatives, programmes and projects taking into account best practice and standards in the business environment
- Customer Service - Demonstrate our promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the Bank’s required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions
The ideal candidate should have the following experience
- At least 9 years of experience in investment management within a Financial Services firm
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Excellent quantitative, presentation and communication skills
- Proven managerial experience
- Proven negotiation skills and ability to influence others
- Fluency in English required
