About the business area, Group Compliance & Governance:

Compliance is an independent function at ADCB which takes an active approach to risk management and monitoring, ensuring the Bank complies with applicable laws, regulations, rules and market standards. The Group creates, implements and monitors policies and procedures designed to prevent or detect financial crime and any compliance breaches of the Bank, its employees and clients. It also monitors and measures the impact of conduct risk and compliance on the Bank’s risk appetite and profile.

In this role, your key responsibilities include:

  • Review and investigate transaction monitoring alerts to identify potential money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions breaches.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of customer transactions and behaviors using internal systems and external data sources.
  • Escalate suspicious activity and prepare Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for submission to the UAE Central Bank.
  • Maintain detailed case documentation and ensure timely and accurate updates to internal systems and MIS.
  • Collaborate with IT and analytics teams to enhance monitoring scenarios, reduce false positives, and improve detection capabilities.
  • Support periodic scenario tuning and validation exercises to ensure effectiveness and regulatory alignment.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, ensuring quality and consistency in alert handling.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes, typologies, and emerging financial crime risks.

The ideal candidate should have the following experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Compliance, AML, or Financial Crime within the Banking or Financial Services sector
  • Strong understanding of transaction monitoring systems, alert workflows, and case management tools
  • Familiarity with UAE Central Bank regulations, AML standards
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; certifications such as CAMS or ICA are a plus
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple investigations simultaneously
