Job overview:

 

To lead Governance and Regulatory Implementation activities across Corporate, Wealth & Investment Banking Group (CWIBG), ensuring effective assessment, interpretation, implementation governance, monitoring and reporting of regulatory requirements, compliance gaps, audit findings and regulatory risk matters.

 

The role acts as the first-line governance lead responsible for regulatory change management, gap assessment coordination, implementation oversight, stakeholder engagement, evidence management, regulatory assurance and management reporting across all CWIBG business segments. The role provides independent challenge and oversight while coordinating implementation activities with business, support and control functions to ensure timely and sustainable compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

 

 

 

In this role, your key responsibilities include:

 

  • Lead engagement with stakeholders across CWIBG and relevant support and control functions to ensure adherence to regulatory. Act as the primary point of coordination on regulatory matters, fostering collaboration and alignment with Compliance and Regulatory frameworks.
  • Provide guidance and support on regulatory expectations and implementation approaches, ensuring accountability, ownership and timely delivery of agreed outcomes.
  • Lead the Governance & Regulatory Implementation team, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement while enhancing the effectiveness of the overall governance framework
  • Provide first-line oversight of regulatory and compliance risks across CWIBG, ensuring obligations, risks and control requirements are appropriately identified, assessed and managed.
  • Lead and oversee assurance activities, reviews and assessments to evaluate adherence to regulatory requirements and identify opportunities for improvement. Coordinate remediation efforts and provide challenge where necessary to ensure timely resolution of identified gaps and issues.
  • Monitor emerging regulatory developments and implementation risks, escalating material issues where appropriate. Provide governance oversight of key regulatory themes
  • Lead the governance and oversight of regulatory change activities across (CWIBG), ensuring regulatory requirements are assessed and implemented in a consistent and timely manner. Establish and maintain appropriate frameworks for regulatory intake, impact assessment, gap analysis and implementation oversight.
  • Coordinate the execution of regulatory initiatives across business, support and control functions, ensuring clear ownership, effective governance and sustainable implementation outcomes
  • Oversee remediation activities arising from regulatory mandates, examinations, audits and compliance reviews.
  • Maintain effective oversight through the development and management of regulatory reporting, management information and implementation tracking frameworks.
  • Oversee the preparation and coordination of regulatory submissions, management reporting, certifications and assurance activities, ensuring information is accurate, complete and delivered within agreed timelines.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, evidence and audit trails are maintained to support regulatory implementation, governance oversight and regulatory assurance requirements.
  • Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and employee contribution to business performance
  • Organise and supervise the activities and work of the team to ensure that targets and objectives are achieved and the business plan is delivered in line with the required
  • policies, processes, procedures and systems
  • Implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures, and ensure employee adherence so that work is carried out to the required standard while delivering the required standards of service to customers and stakeholders
  • Manage and motivate the team to ensure they contribute to, and participate in, the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the Bank’s standards

 

 

 

The ideal candidate should have the following experience:

 

    • At least 7 years of experience preferably in the Banking Industry in a Risk Management, Compliance, Governance or equivalent
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business, Banking, Law or equivalent
    • Excel, Word and MS Office skills Written and spoken English
    • Working knowledge of the current regulatory environment, Regulatory Compliance & Regulatory Risk
    • Strong understanding of Corporate Banking Business module, products and services
