About the business area, Group Compliance & Governance:
Compliance is an independent function at ADCB which takes an active approach to risk management and monitoring, ensuring the Bank complies with applicable laws, regulations, rules and market standards. The Group creates, implements and monitors policies and procedures designed to prevent or detect financial crime and any compliance breaches of the Bank, its employees and clients. It also monitors and measures the impact of conduct risk and compliance on the Bank’s risk appetite and profile.
In this role, your key responsibilities include:
- To support the implementation, enhancement and optimisation of Compliance and Financial Crime systems, models and data initiatives to strengthen monitoring and risk management capabilities, including model performance monitoring, AML typology parameter and threshold tuning, data integrity and validation testing, UAT execution, and the preparation of reporting on system performance, issues and associated Financial Crime risks.
- Coordinate Compliance and Financial Crime system, model and data initiatives, enhancements and change requests by engaging with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, collaborating with IT on implementation and testing activities, and maintaining accurate tracking and status reporting to support timely delivery and effective governance of all initiatives.
- Support the development, testing, deployment and ongoing enhancement of AML and Financial Crime models by participating in model validation activities, monitoring model performance and effectiveness, and providing analysis and reporting to ensure solutions continue to operate in line with business and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor Financial Crime system performance, parameters and thresholds to identify control weaknesses, performance issues and exceptions, escalating concerns where required and preparing accurate management reporting on alert volumes, turnaround times, system effectiveness and key risk indicators to support informed decision-making.
- Manage self in line with the Bank’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own contribution to business performance.
- Recommend and implement improvements to departmental policies, procedures and processes covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while ensuring that ADCB delivers best-in-class services, products and innovation.

The ideal candidate should have the following experience
- At least 5 years of experience in Financial Crime systems, transaction monitoring, screening and related applications within the banking or financial services sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related quantitative discipline.
- Professional certification in Financial Crime Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Model Risk Management or a related discipline (e.g., CAMS, ICA, CFCS).
- Programming and scripting languages (e.g. SQL, Python, SAS).
- AML and Financial Crime systems knowledge.
- Model development and performance monitoring.
- Detection rule design and optimisation.
- Multi-product monitoring strategies.
- Financial Crime data analysis.
- Data sourcing, mapping and validation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
